The one element which was a bit more thought-provoking was the use of the principle of gestures. This visual-language cue, much like postures and facial expressions, can be used to convey a wide variety of ideas, but since gestures are by definition performed through movement, how can they be described in a single, static image?

One solution might be to illustrate a gesture at its "apex" - the point of maximum interest of the entire composing motion. The resulting image should normally be quite compelling, and representative of the desired gesticulation.

To this effect, having decided to exhibit the character in the act of dramatically reciting verses from the "magical tome" which he possesses, I chose to display him with said book held open in the right hand, while the left hand is held high above his head, as in the act of giving a sermon. The overall result is somewhat to the effect of an old priest or prophet preaching to a gathering of prospective converts, which efficiently implies a necessary degree of the desired Wisdom attribute.
